Ascanio Kurkumelis

Ascanio Kurkumelis (Parma, 1985) is an art historian and art critic, graduated at the University of Parma, for which he collaborated with the Study Center and Communication Archive (C.S.A.C.) in the photographic section. He then obtained a 2nd level master’s degree at the Catholic University of Milan, in Museology, Museography and Management of cultural heritage. For many years he has been studying the work and archive of the photographer Nino Migliori, on whom he has written a research thesis and published several essays. He collaborates as a curator and researcher for the exhibitions and editorial projects of the Nino’s Migliori Foundation and for other realities.


He is member of the scientific committee of the contemporary art association Doutdo.


He had been working for several years as coordinator of the Photo Gallery at the MAST Foundation in Bologna.


Now he works as an independent art curator and consultant. He gives academic lectures with a focus on art and photography.
